Hi
Has anyone walked the Via Francigena from San Miniato to Siena?

I'm looking for some first-hand info from someone who has done it, such as need to book accommodations in advance, sending luggage to Siena, etc

Thanks very much!

Hello,

How nice to hear from you. A friend and I will do similar to you - walk in September from San Miniato to Siena. We will unite with a 3rd friend and walk to Torrenieri. The two of us walking the longer distance will have walking sticks and backpacks. The 3rd friend recently had a knee replacement and will carry only a small pack enough for her 3 days. I walked a portion of the Camino de Santiago 2 years ago and a backpack was easy. We bought our backpacks at LL Bean and will carry no more than 12#. We have all our sleeping reservations which will be small hotels in private rooms. We will end in Torrenieri and take a car to Rome. We will not return to San Miniato.

Most of the walking companies offer luggage transport. Have you tried francigenaways or Macadventure?

I hope you will continue to share your planning arrangements.

Karen
