We will be taking a very early train out of Venice Maestre station, but are staying near the Santa Lucia station - it appears there is no connecting train. How hard is it to get over to Maestre at 5 in the morning?

Hi
the first train leave Venezia Santa Lucia at 5 o'clock and arrive in Mestre ten minutes later. Then there are train at 5,17 5,19 5,26 5,41 5,42 5,47 5,48 5,57 and take about ten minutes.
Check on trenitalia ...at "leaving from" write VENEZIA S.L. and "Going to" write MESTRE.
Ciao ciao

Be sure the train you are catching from Mestre doesn't in fact START at Santa Lucia a few minutes beforehand. Most trains do..! Check using www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

Thanks for the information ... I had checked to see if the early train out of Maestre to Paris (via Milan) originates at Santa Lucia - although the later ones do, the first one doesn't. Sounds as if it won't be a problem, though. We'll just take the local over and get on the train we want with plenty of time.
