- Venice. We only have 2 nights and 3 days (mostly because of the high costs of this town). We want to stay somewhere central within walking distance of all the sites & not too far from the Grand Canal. eg. San Marco, San Polo or Santa Cruz. We are backpacking and will be arriving around 8am on a night train from Prague. We are have trouble finding a B&B to suit and were hoping someone could recommend somewhere in one or other of these areas for June 1 - 3 for my daughter and myself. Able to spend around 120 - 180 euro max per night per room.
2. Florence. Does anyone know the B&B Climatori in central Florence. We're using Tripadvisor, Octopus and Venere for our searches but personally I would rather book direct which doesn't appear possible in Italy. I am used to travel in Asia, where you email a choice from Lonely Planet guide book just before arrival or often just turn up. Obviously things are different in Europe but we would really appreciate some recommendations as in Florence we wanted to stay 5 or 6 nights making Florence our base for Tuscan forays.
Help! Need to make some bookings asap.
