Are you arriving to Rome by train? If so, #1's advice is all good. But if you by any chance arrives at Fiumicino airport (or by local train that stops at Trastevere), I would advice you to go to Trastevere station instead of Termini. From there you can take the tram directly to Largo Argentina. A lot easier than bus #64.

Nel, 5 1st timers on a bus with luggage plus getting-off at the right stop, then walking and finding your street/apartment?

If it was me I'd opt for 2 taxis instead.
If you decide on taxis don't go to the taxi queue in front of the station.
Instead as you are walking thru the station from the platforms you will come to a large 2-story gallery (shops, restaurants, etc), turn left walk outside, there is a small taxi queue there with taxis dropping-off people all the time.

The taxis at the main taxi queue in front of the station seem to overcharge tourists alot but I have had good luck and no problems at this smaller taxi queue which is mostly for drop-offs.

Each taxi with the luggage surcharge included (€1 per bag in the trunk/boot) should be no more than €10 with an honest taxi driver.

Or give this company a try www.romeshuttlelimousine.com/Inglese_p.htm<BR> He charges €50 for 5 from Rome to the Airport in a Mercedes Van so perhaps half (€25-30) that for a intercity trip?
They would also meet you at your train's platform on arrival.

If you want too, give me the apartment's address, I'm a history buff and perhaps I could tell you what ancient site is beneath you? Regards, Walter

Wow Great location!
I had figured you were probably staying on one of the side roads just near-by the Pantheon but you are right next to it.

Ok your apartment faces the westside of the Pantheon, behind your apartment is the 'Stagnum Agrippa' which is a large artificial ornamental lake built by Agrippa in ~25BC (if you're an HBO Rome fan Agrippa was Octavian/Augustus' best friend in love with his sister).
Your apartment would be on the shore of this lake with very likely ornamental structures in that location (also quoted below "on the margin of the lake") .

Sounds like a boring ancient site so let me spice it up a bit:).
So let's bring in Nero and one of his most famous orgies:).

[From Tacitus]
"37. Nero, to win credit for himself of enjoying nothing so much as the capital, prepared banquets in the public places, and used the whole city, so to say, as his private house. Of these entertainments the most famous for their notorious profligacy were those furnished by Tigellinus, which I will describe as an illustration, that I may not have again and again to narrate similar extravagance. He had a raft constructed on Agrippa's lake, put the guests on board and set it in motion by other vessels towing it. These vessels glittered with gold and ivory; the crews were arranged according to age and experience in vice. Birds and beasts had been procured from remote countries, and sea monsters from the ocean.
On the margin of the lake were set up brothels crowded with noble ladies, and on the opposite bank were seen naked prostitutes with obscene gestures and movements. As darkness approached, all the adjacent grove and surrounding buildings resounded with song, and shone brilliantly with lights. Nero, who polluted himself by every lawful or lawless indulgence, had not omitted a single abomination which could heighten his depravity, till a few days afterwards he stooped to marry himself to one of that filthy herd, by name Pythagoras, with all the forms of regular wedlock. The bridal veil was put over the emperor; people saw the witnesses of the ceremony, the wedding dower, the couch and the nuptial torches; everything in a word was plainly visible, which, even when a woman weds darkness hides".

Also at the Largo dei Torre Argentina (the bus stop others have mentioned) are 4 Roman Temple ruins. At this location Julius Caesar was assassinated, the location is unmarked but visible.
Scroll thru my post here http://tinyurl.com/y4mxvq until you get to the section for the CURIA assassination site.
Regards, Walter
