Looking at going to Sicily in October with an Infant age 1 as hopefully won’t be that hot. Looking at flying into Palermo but then looking at any resort / area to go to and spend a week there before flying back from Palermo. We Wont be doing much other than chilling and resting and good wine & food tasting for us parents :-)

Any suggestions?

Cheers

If you want to stick close to Palermo, best bets would be somewhere like Cefalu or San Vito.Though a week in either of them would be a lot for me ;-)

There are lots of other possibilities ,particularly on the East coast, but you would need a lot more time to get there and back...

Thanks

Not limited to a week but wont be there longer than 10 days max. Just looking for baby friendly areas that have all the requirements for travelling with Junior i.e. ample supply of shops with nappies, easy manoeuvre for pram, etc as first trip abroad with junior so although we are seasoned travellers its a whole different ball game with junior on board

May look at car hire just need baby seat installed etc. so could give us some freedom of movement

Cefalu is a town. And San Vito is small town. Both of them have shops (Cefalu more) where you can get that kind of stuff.

They are both mostly on the sea and fairly flat (for Sicily) unlike other 'beach' places like Taormina.

If you want to move around a lot then a car hire will be pretty useful here.

If you just want to stay on the beach for a week then not necessary.Cefalu for example is easy by train from Palermo.San Vito is more difficult but there is the occasional bus (or taxi!)

Thanks

With Junior we wanted to avoid having to rent a car and just stay in the resort and then do day trips just less hassle and also don't have to worry about baby car seats etc.

Cefalu looks nice so looking at places to stay there now if any recommendations please let me know. Also seeing the transport methods from Palermo airport to there and if any hotels do pick ups etc again just less hassle

Cheers

They will pick you up from the airport if you want, though its a long way from Cefalu..it won't be cheap.

Alternatively you can take the bus to Palermo station and then train from there.About 2 hours in total and something like 20 euros a head or less...

Thanks

We are both seasoned travellers but this is first time abroad with Junior so we want to make it as easy as possible but I am sure there will be a few bumps along the way. Maybe get picked up when we arrive and then get train. Just googling hotels etc via all the standard hotel websites but are there any local Italian sites that can be checked

Cheers
