Hi there,
Has anyone done any walking in Sardinia? If so, do you have any recommendations for good walks. The guide books I've seen only mention a couple of shorter day walks.
Thanks
David

Yes. There is also the possibility of walking from Dorgali to Oliena (or vice versa) via Tiscali. You'd need a decent map tho. I wanted to do some more ambitious walking when I was there, but in the end just did a day walk up from Oliena to the peak above the town. Nice walk tho.

There's a village further up into the mountains that looked as if it would make a good base for walking - can't remember the name, but think it started with "a". Accessible by a daily bus from Nuoro tho.

Ah... not to be forgotten is the beautiful coast walk (2hrs or so) from Cala Gonone to Cala Luna (and you can go back by boat)

We did some walks around the north east coast area. Since thenb, found a useful guidebook: Rother Walking Guide Sardinia, by Mithra Omidvar, ISBN 3-7633-4800-X which covers 50 day walks along coasts & in mountains, including mentioning wildlife, scenery, archaeological sites etc.
