We want to spend a week in the Liguria and Piedmont area. We will spend 2 nights in the Cinque Terre prior to this. Ideally it would be nice to find a base on the coast west of Genoa and Portofino for a good part of the week.

Does anyone have experience in those areas?

Thanks,

Tricia

All along the "flower Riviera" you have in each village a lot of hotels. Up to your time it can be crowded and full booked. This part has thousands of tourists always coming from northern European countries.

I have experience in the Cinque Terre, you can visit great placecs there
In a day you can see the five of them: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia(a bit difficult), Vernazza and Monterosso, just take a train and visit all of them if you only want to do something fast, else go search for some sites where you can do tours or see places where to eat
