My husband and I will be in Sicily in June and then travelling to Positano for a few nights. I am wondering which is the best overnight ferry to get? Either to Naples or Salerno? And then ferry, bus or train (or a mix) to get to Positano??
What are peoples thoughts?

I haven't taken ferries, but I do suggest the site Rome2rio...here's their recommendations
for Palermo to Positano
https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Palermo/Positano
Once on the site you can adjust the choices to see what could work for you.
Good luck

There are far more ferries from Palermo to Napoli than to Salerno (I think only one or two a week to Salerno, and one of them may not even be overnight).

If you have the right day for Salerno, then its less of a hassle than Naples I guess.A smaller city, more relaxed.

Naples to Positano...train from Naples to Sorrento, then bus.Or else you can do it by ferry.....

Salerno to Positano...bus,or ferry.

Thank you @sfgirl42 I will check out that site.

That's great @lucapal, now I look closer I see there are no ferries to Salerno on the day we are leaving Sicily so that solves that problem.
Not long now, we leave in 31 days (and counting) :-)

to get to Naples from Palermo the best way is Gnv (GRANDI NAVI VELOCI) http://www.gnv.it/ there are two ferry round trip every day.
Regarding to get to Positano you can use local transfer limo service company https://positanolimoservice.com
