Yes, I did think about mentioning Epiphany too, but I was in Venice on 6 January this year and didn't really notice the difference. The regional bus service I used (to Chioggia) was on its holiday timetable, but that was about it.
Yes ... I also saw 6 Jan was Epiphany (or some similar Catholic voodoo) but given the OP's schedule it didn't look like it would impact on them too much.
Most tourist needs are met on holidays anyway (except for things like shutting museums).
