Hello,

Can anyone recommend a nice, romantic hotel for my honeymoon? We're flying into Naples and for the second part of our holiday we'all be heading to the amalfi coast. Happy to consider any feasible location.

Looking for something romantic, ideally with beautiful (preferably sea) views and a touch of luxury. Ideally don't want to pay more than £200 per night but can be a bit flexible on this.

Thank you :)

I would look at somewhere like Positano for something special ... we found Sorrento rather underwhelming ... and not hugely interesting, really.

I would agree much nicer and romantic towns than Sorrento, the big ones being Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, but there are other smaller places, Sorrento is not actually the Amalfi coast and fills with package tour companies. You have not said when this will be, but if it is this summer you need to book as soon as possible, for your budget I am think you might struggle to get what you are probably looking for. It is a pretty expensive area.

Best to probably go on www.booking.com put in the Amalfi and your dates then check places out by using the map.

Yes, you will get much more info. from hotel sites like booking.com than here.

And £200 per night should find you something pretty nice and romantic - even on the Amalfi Coast. We have never paid that much for a room ever!

Depends when and where, I just looked at hotel i used a few years back for a romantic break, at the time we had a blow out paying around £200 a night, in September the rooms were €680 a night! I suppose it depends on what you consider suitable for a honeymoon and what standard you are looking for.

Thanks for the replies.

Just to clarify, we already have a hotel booked in Praiano on the Amalfi coast. For the first part of our trip we thought it would be nice to stay somewhere else, so that's what I'm seeking recommendations for. Happy to stay anywhere within reasonable travelling distance (by train) from Naples and/or the Amalfi coast.

Why not look at Ischia, a lovely island with ferries from Naples, then it is very different. Praiano is a good choice. Sorrento to me is only good for a base for Pompeii and Capri. Ischia is much less touristy than Capri and offers a little bit more to do.

Yeah well ... I'm more likely to pay that for a week ... and we still have a really good time in Italy!

I am not saying I would pay that, but the prices on Amalfi coast can be crazy.
