Hello,
I am looking at flying into Milan in July and have options to either fly into Linate or Malpensa. Ideally I would be arriving around 9 at night, so I want to make sure I can find a hotel that is close to the airport and then I'll be taking the train to Venice in the morning. Does anyone know if there is a train station near the Linate airport and/or a cheap, decent hotel nearby as well? The flight I like best arrives in Linate and I just want to make sure it is not completely out of the way.

Your train will leave from the station in Milan so why not stay near the train station in the center of Milan? The Milan Airport Website has information on transport from both airports.

Linate is the closest one to the city center. There are buses that take you to Milan Central Station in about 15/20 minutes (Malpensa is an hour outside the city). Even if you decide to take a taxi it shouldn't be a huge expense (20 euros more or less) but of course the bus is your best option because it will cost you about 2 euros per person.
Both the airport area and the Train Station area are full of hotels, though you will have more luck in finding nice cheaper hotel near the airport than the Train Station. Around the Train Station you will find either super expensive 5 star places or dodgy places.....I'm not able to suggest a specific hotel in around the airport. Sorry about that.
