Hi

I've read lonely planet guidebooks and I realised that some streets near the Termini station isnt very safe and must be avoided, such as that southwest to the station ( or to the left as you leave the platforms )

It says that northeast of the station is safer but what exactly are the streets around that area?

Is Via Villafranca in the safer area? I wish to stay at Carlito's Way if possible. Saw pretty good reviews on Tripadvisor.

Thanks.

www.ricksteves.com</a> Check out the Graffitti Wall and click on the Alternative Accomodations link. As far as finding certain streets, use Google, click on maps, write in Termni Station Rome, then click on satellite, hybrid view. Easy. Ciao.

Hi

The area west of the Termini is fine. Very handy to tourist sites. South of the Termini is meant to be shady but this too could be an urban myth! I wouldn't stay east of the station. Not really walking distance and you really need to walk Rome to appreciate its beauty - it's quite a compact city.

the best areas around termini are VIA CAVOUR and VIA NAZIONALE (and the streets around them). anyway, termini neighbourhood is not less safer than other areas of the city.

Just to remember the readers Rome is probably one of the safest cities in the world.
The Termini area is not the probably the best to have a walk in the evenings BUT you will feel safe !!!

It's not so bad! Looks a bit seedy, but I've stayed there numerous times and never had any problems walking back at night.

I'm staying here.

Someone checked out the location for me and said it's good.
