Hi my husband and I plan to visit Greece last week Sep/1st week Oct. We have determined to go to the ff places:
Mykonos (2 nights)
Santorini (2-3 night)
Athens (2 nights) - before or after we go to Santorini and Mykonos

Can somebody help me with the FF:
1. On Airport Transfers (to/from Plaka and to/from Piraeus Port)
- IS there a metro we can ride (if so, is it safe and reliable?) or do we need to hire private transfer? (referrals welcome)

2. On Mykonos vs Santorini- we think we can only…

Hi,

I will be on Rhodes early September and after exploring Rhodes city I want to go to a decent beach. With "decent beach" I mean something clean, with some infrastructure (i.e. restaurants, hotels) around, but not crowded with hordes of drunken all inclusive tourists. I dont mind meeting some tourists at the beach and in the bars though ...

The LP "Greek islands" is handling Rhodes on only a few pages so I am wondering where to go. Faliraki sounds nice but totally crowded.. Maybe Lindos ? Does…

I am interested in doing a course to improve my Greek language, and am hoping for some recommendations.

I am middle-aged and thought something that is run locally might attract a wider range of people and ages groups. I would much prefer Athens, but would consider elsewhere.

If anyone has done any language courses in Greece, I would be pleased to hear from them.

We (couple with 9-year-old son) are going to the Pelion Peninsula in mid-September for a week to 10 days. I have gotten a lot of information from the Thorn Tree so far, but wondered which village you would recommend, on the Agean side, pleasant but not too crowded and touristy, near a sandy, pretty beach with a few tavernas?

Also, is Volos worth seeing? Has anyone taken the bus from Volos to Delphi? The road through the mountains looks like some of the very twisty and dangerous roads common…

Hi all,

I am flying into Hania on sept 25 and would love some recommendations for good value hotels/domatia for a few days before setting off around the west and south coasts. My budget is around 20-30E per day, but cheaper would be nice. I am not bothered about being on the harbour but the few i have communicated with do seem pricey.

Many thanks
Mark.

Hi,

I fly into Thessaloniki on Friday night. I have to catch a train to Skopje on Tuesday evening.

I have 4 days to kill with my girlfriend and would like to spend it on a beach near Thessaloniki.

Can anyone recommend some nice beaches or islands nearby? I don't have a lot of time, so I don't want to travel too far. Somewhere with some nightlife, but not too crazy.

Thanks

Dave

Originally I was going to go camping in my own country, but due to the atrocious weather I've decided to go south in search of some sunshine. So I thought I might go island hopping in Greece. But what are the chances of finding some decently priced B&B? Is it still the high season or is it doable?
