so i am almost certain i will be traveling to greece in 08 around june. but i really am lost in even begining to plan this trip. i have been to the carribean a couple of times, central america and mexico. however europe is new to me and with greece i really dont know what to expect or where to go. so basically i was wondering if anyone had some thoughts on where to go. i know we need to go to athens at least, and we would also like to spend some time on a greek island. that is where i am having…

I will be arriving Athens at almost midnight and to catch a 6am train to Olympia, wondering is it safe? Is there any good spot for sleeping at the train station?

I'm quite interested in visiting, apart these places, Samothrace island, Patmos island, Kos island, Monemvassia, Delfos, Nafplion and Mount Olympos but only if there's a backpacker scene…

We are thinking of Nafplion in February. I know it's winter but it may be a different kind of winter from ours. We are looking to rent a small apartment for the month. Any ideas?

I'd appreciate any and all feedback on my current itinerary. My boyfriend and I are taking the red eye into Athens, which arrives on Saturday, September 22nd, and we're leaving Athens on Monday, October 1st. I am planning to spend two weeks in Greece as part of a longer one month trip to Europe next June. I have a general itinerary which I will write below and I am just looking for some validation along with a few questions:

Planning to be in western turkey soon, somewhere around Ephesus.(Im flexible) then I want to stop on an island for a coupel of nights on my way to Athens(Piraeus by boat I guess). Im assuming two boats is all ill need to take, one to a greek island off the coast of Turkey, and then another boat to Piraeus. But my question is --what is the cheapest route across the Agean?
