My fiance and I would LOVE to go to Greece for our honeymoon, but are having trouble deciding where to go within the country since 10 days only allows for 2-3 stops. We are not interested in night-life or especially touristy places (such as Mykonos or Santorini) as much as a truly Greek experience. The other hiccup is that our honeymoon falls right at the end of shoulder season (Oct 23-Nov 4). So ferries will be difficult. Therefore, we were considering flying into Crete, spending 2 days, flying…

We will go to Greece/Cyclades in July, I will be with my wife and 3 kids aged 8 to 11. We are interested in history/architecture (a bit), landscapes, food, relaxing, spending time together as well as meeting others. Also the kids are now old enough so that packing/unpacking our stuff every 2-3 days is not that much of a pain anymore.

So here's the places we plan to go:
Vouliagmenis : 2 nights
Corinth : 1 night
Milos : 4 nights
Santorin : 2 nights
Mykonos : 3 nights
Siros : 3 nights
Athens : 2 nights

To anyone who has traveled in Crete in a camper:

We will be spending 13 days in Crete, in a camper, end of June and 5 days into July. We are a family of five with two 8-year old twins and a four year old. They are active and able to walk. When the youngest gets tired, we have a backpack for him to sit in. We are leaving from Heraklion and will be returning the camper in Heraklion.

We are looking forward to nice beaches, some walking in nature, and isolated (and safe) spots to sleep overnight…

Hello,

We are travelling during June/July and our route is : Athens to Paros to Naxos to Santorini to Milos to Serifos and back to Athens. We will be staying 4 to 5 days at each island. My question is do we book the ferries now? Or is it easy to do while we are there? Do they get booked up quickly since we are going in such peak season? Also, we want to rent a car in Milos...should we arrange this now?

TIA. Jenn

Hi,

Does the train actually run every day from Thessaloniki to Sofia, Bulgaria?
(I know, timetable is shown on the web page of Greek railway, however, is this right and collect?)

If it runs, on the journey, does the border control cause any trouble (e.g. taking too much time leading to delay)?
(I am wondering if refugee problems influence or not)

If it runs, how can I make a reservation of the train before entering Greece?
Is on-line reservation available? Is any travel agency recommended?

I…

Hello,

I'm working on an itinerary in Greece this June. We are a family of five (8 year old twins and a 4 year old) traveling for a month. I would like to keep some space for last-minute decisions, but I'm afraid this could be difficult in the Cyclades with young children at this time of year...

I have a few questions.

We're landing in Athens, and only staying two nights. Hotel booked. After that, it's all open. We're thinking about visiting a few islands in the Cyclades. We will go to…

Hello,
I am wondering if it is worth it to drive to the Samaria Gorge to just walk a few kilometers. I read that starting by the "end" at Agia Roumeli was possible and the Sideroporta (where the gorge narrows) is about an hour walk. We wish to do a bit of (easy) hiking in Crete this June but we have three young children so the 16km trail would definitely be too long. I also read somewhere on this forum that you cannot get to Agia Roumeli by car (only ferry or foot). We will probably be traveling…
