This is Pramod Kanakath, Indian citizen living and working in Indonesia. I am planning to travel to Greece with my wife and son (both Indonesians) next year. On our way, we will be spending a few days in India. Will it be OK to get the Greece visa issued from Indonesia itself? Or, do I need to get it from India? Getting it in Indonesia will save a big amount of time for me in India. Thanks.

I don't see why you can't get the VISA in Indonesia. In fact for most country, you get a tourist VISA from embassy of country of residence, not country of citizenship.

Of course, best bet will be to call Greece Embassy in Jakarta.

Yes, in general, you should apply for a Schengen visa from your country of residence. Besides, the 'few days' you spend in India may not be enough to get the visa, even if your family members are eligible for applying there. So it seems it is better to finish the procedure off in Indonesia itself.
