We have an international flight out of Athens at 6.50 am with Aegian Airlines on October 15 (Monday). I assume we have to be there by 5 am at the latest. We were thinking of staying in a hotel in Athens somewhere centrally near Monesteraki Platz. What are our options how to get to the airport by 5 am? Subway? Airport bus? Taxi? And how much is it?
Thank you very much!

Airport bus from Syntagma Square. It's the X96 which goes about every half hour and costs €3.20.
If you take a taxi, get your hotel to book it for you and agree the price in advance. Should be around €35, maybe a bit more at that time.

Hi there, you can get the hotel to book someone, or try arimar travel, they do transfers for me all the time with people arriving and leaving to London. It us usually around 40 euro, maybe 45, but you will get there and not have to lug your things all over in the middle of the night. telephone is 210 8981162 or 210 8981164 THe mans name is Makis Koulpalidis and tell him that Alexia recommended him to you. Let him know the hotel and time and he will let you know what you will pay. He speaks English. I think their site is www.arimar-travel.gr try that or without the hyphen. good luck

Between midnight and 6 AM taxis charge double, so the bus from Syntagma that #1 suggests is the most economical solution to your need. This bus leaves from beside Syntagma Square every half-hour all night long every day. Hotels within walking distance of the bus stop are the Grand Bretagne, King George II, Pan, Amazon, Arethusa and Electra.
