Hello,
Am travelling Europe (on a shoestring!!) at the moment, and next stop is Greece.. Have sadly lost my lonely planet and cannot buy one here for love nor money!!!! (Am in Krakow).
We are going to spend 1/2 nights in Athens, but then would like to head out to the islands... can anyone suggest a possible route, taking in 2-4 of the least touristy islands, and heading in a circle i.e. am going to be going back to the mainland to continue to Italy. Would prefer not to back track if at all possible.

We are an older couple, with no real interest in the more 'party oriented' islands.

Thanks in advance!

GC

Are you taking the ferry from Patras to Italy? You may consider the Ionian Islands as the ferry stops in Igoumenitsa, just across from Corfu. From Corfu you could head out to Paxi or Antipaxi [Corfu is a busy island, but there is something for everyone]
