Hello all - Flying into Samos Sept 13 arrive 16:05 - ferry to Kusadasi leaves at 17:00.
Several questions- is it possible to get a taxi at Samos airport and make it to the ferry? Appears to be several sites to purchase ferry tickets but ISTA travel seems to be the major source? What is the cost and how long does it take to process out of Samos? Can not find a web site for ISTA. Can ferry tickets be purchased in advance?
Any advice or recommendations would be welcome.
Thanks

I doubt it unless you have a car waiting for you at the airport, it's on the other side of he island from Vathy, where the Kusadasi ferry goes. I think your only chance would be to get a TELEPHONE CALL through to ISTA travel. If they think you can make it, and will sell you the ticket over the phone, and book a taxi to meet you at the airport.... but that's the kind of thing that captains of industry do, not budget travellers. And travel in Greece is not about that kind of anxious mad dash.
MUST you catch that particular ferry? Can you not get one the next day? As I remember, they go every day. There's a lovely little family hotel right on Vathy Bay about 200 yards to the left of the quay where u can stay one night for probably 30E a double... and have a swim at the tiny beach u can see from the balcony. Hotel Pythagoras. The next AM, you can see the Samos Museum. BIGGEST KOUROS in the WORLD is there. Live a little.

Jan gives very good advice. She has done it all before and knows of what she speaks.
Even if you fly to Pythagorio which also has a ferry to Kusadasi you will be extremely hard pressed to get to the ferry dock from the airport in less than an hour unless you travel without luggage.
Samos particularly Pythagario has some pretty neat Roman ruins and it is well worth it to take your time and explore a little and take the ferry the next day.
