hello, we will stay 3 days in Athens and would like to do one day trip. What do you think is the best option? Is there any reliable bus/train web where I could find schedules etc...?

This is a very general question. What exactly are your interests? Nature, museums, scenery, hiking...??? If you are inerested for antiquities,a good idea would be Delphi. Or maybe Olympia, Mycenes etc in Peloponnese. Nafplio would be a good choice, mostly for scenery and atmosphere,although I think it's a bit harsy to go there and come back in one day... Just a trip to Sounio could combine antiquities and scenery,(now that would be a sort trip!). An other different option could be the Saronic islands,although my self I find it a bit pointless going there just for some hours... If you are interest in nature, a walk in Parnitha or Penteli mountains forests'(or what's left from them anyway : (((-after the fires) would do...

for buses check www.ktel.gr for trains check www.ose.gr .Take one day trip to the Saronic islands ,Aegina,Poros, Hydra or Spetses. All are near to Piraeus (Aegina anour hour and 15 min) boats living frequently from Piraeus.
