Can anybody recommend a good website about camp sites on the islands preferably the Cyclades. Ideally places that are chilled out with 1 or 2 taverna's nearby. Did a search and didn't really find anything. The camping.gr site does'nt seem to work here (NZ) Also any advice on where to go and what to take would be much appreciated. I'm looking at going next summer.
Thanks heaps.

The website you mention doesn't seem to be working, and the others I found in a Google search weren't very complete or informative. Guidebooks usually mention campsites in their acccommodation sections, and just about every popular island in Cyclades will have at least one campsite, usually near a beach. Unless you are travelling in high season, rooms can be found upon arrival at very favourable rates as an alternative to camping.

Where to go in the Cyclades depends upon your interests, whether it be beaches, ancient sites, hiking, nightlife, or solitude - each island has something different. Even the time of summer you visit will make a difference: July and August are crowded, hot, and expensive; June and September are more quiet.

You can try this website - although the coverage of the islands is rather hit and miss.

Hello!

You can find all campsites in Greece on www.camping.info (one of the european camping guides), also with some recommendations.
