Hello fellow travelers and happy Spring! I am getting ready for my first trip to Greece at the end of April/early May for 3 weeks. It's looking like I will probably be traveling solo around the Peloponnese for Greek Easter and am really looking forward to the opportunity to experience the holiday! I was thinking of perhaps planning to be around Monemvasia but I am open to new ideas or suggestions. It sounds like the festivities are very family/friends based, so as a solo traveler I may miss out on much of it, but I thought I would see if anyone has suggestions on good places or ways to experience Easter. I assume much of the town will be closed down and it will probably be best to just stay put for a couple days and enjoy watching the goings-on. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,

Corinna

I can't offer suggestions on the area but I have been in Greece during Greek Easter and many eating places were shut so make sure you have secure arrangements in hand for eating. (I was once on Chios on Easter weekend many years ago and there was NOTHING open so we finally had to return to Turkey in order to eat).
