Hi All,

I did a bit of searching but was unable to find anything up to date on this topic.

Myself and my partner are travelling from Turkey to Greece soon and need some advice on ferry transport as the internet is turning up unreliable/conflicting information.
We need to travel from Bodrum, Turkey to Rhodes on Saturday 30th May.
We then need to travel from Rhodes to Santorini on Tuesday 2nd JUne.
I have found ferries form Santorini to Athens for our trip home.

Does anyone know how to find out if these routes are operating on these days? Do we need to book tickets in advance and how do we do this? Are we able to book at the port?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much!

I think bodrum to Rhodes is daily, but Rhodes to santorini is on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

Here you see your only possibility. No need to book ahead.
Have a nice trip!

If you really have to go from Rhodos to Santorini on that Tuesday June 2nd, Aegean has a few 1-stop flights for 65~70€ pp. But beware that you'll pay (considerably) extra for checked luggage.

Bodrum > Kos is a twice daily ferry, in addition to the less frequent Bodrum > Rhodes service.
Ferries from Kos <> Rhodes are about 3 daily.

For a ferry Rhodes/Kos to Santorini you will have to change day to Mon, Wed, Fri, 16:00 from Rhodes, 19:45 from Kos, Bluestar ferries, it's the same ferry.

Buy tickets in the respective ports, it's early season so there should be no availability problems.

Hi all,

Thank you so much for all your help. It seems my initial plans were under-researched and made with the fairytale idea of casually island hopping. Aparantly not quite so easy and fancy free.
Looks like we will be leaving Rhodes earlier than expected on the Tuesday!
Thank you so much for your help - I have found the internet quite difficult to navigate in terms of pinning down timetables for ferries.

Glad you were able to figure out something workable, sharpess. finding ferries between countries is always a challenge. Best Bet for Greece ferry-planning is to spend time on http://www.gtp.gr/RoutesForm.asp To find out ALL options between 2 places, you put in the 2 names, then the Month (6, 7 etc) and leave the DATE slot at "any." You'll then see all the options within the month... takes sorting, but u see the big picture.

IF you think there may be a ferry that's not announced yet for High Season (altho they SHOULD be on the sked by now), you could always use a "rollback calendar" feature on http://www.openseas.gr/en/index.html This website doesn't allow you to scan a whole month ... however, when you put in a definite date and click search ... the result also lets you see "Next day" and "previous day." As for "rollback", the little calendar ikon lets you turn back the calendar to LAST summer. If you want a ferry from Rhodes to Kos on the 2nd Monday of July ... roll back NOT to 2015s 2nd monday, but look at 2nd Monday of July 2014. Perhaps there's a regular sailing that just hasn't been added to the 2015 calendar yet.

For Rhodes-Santorini, Blue Star site is VERY clear: http://www.bluestarferries.com/site/content.asp?sel=624&loc=2&query= ... what trips up people going outbound is that sail-time From Santorini, just after midnight on M-W-F -- best to think of it as Sun - Tues-Thurs night Very Late. But the inbound trip no confusion.

I tend to think people get confused on ferries when they go on too many company sites. gtp.gr is TOPS. And you don't have to order online... just find ferries & book when you get to Greece, unless it's for a major holiday.
