I will be travelling alone to Athens on Christmas Day this year and plan to hang around till the 28th Dec. I finish all my tours in Istanbul on 24th Dec so thought I might pop over to Athens before continuing onto Dubai, then back home to Sydney.

But boy am I having a hard time of finding out whats open and what to do around Athens - I would have liked to have taken a tour of Meteora Monsatries & Delphi (2 day tour starting 26th) - but I dont think any tours are running. And its not easy to find on the net what to do in December - heaps of info what to do in the summer, but that doesnt help me much.

So can anyone suggest what I can do? Maybe can I make my own way to Delphi etc without taking a tour? I cant change my dates but I just scared of going to Greece and being bored to tears.....

HELP!! :(

If you can't think of anything to do in Greece, then perhaps think again....[your destination]

nevertheless, you won't find many 2 day tours to Delphi-Meteora- they are sold as 2 nts/3 days.
Furthermore, tour schedules for winter are less frequent, and usually published sometime in Aug.
However, Dolphin Hellas tours sell 2 day Delphi-Meteora and hve their winter schedule for 07-08-

It is easy to get a bus to Delfi. Stay a night there then catch the bus to Lamia and on to Kalambaka. Stay a night there and then catch the train or a bus from there back to Athens. Easily done and both wonderful places to visit. Aloha
