Hi There,

Tomorrow I'm flying lastminute to Athens, staying there for a few days and than planning to visit some Cyclade islands.
As, I'm still not sure where to go (definitely will go to Naxos) I have not booked any accomodation yet.
Can I just take the ferry to the islands and find accomodation upon arrival or do I need to book in advance?

Thanks for your reply

No problem for Naxos: tons of free rooms in May.

Yes, finding rooms as you go in May isn't a problem, but just be sure you know where on the island the rooms are located so you don't end up in the middle of nowhere with nothing around you in terms of shops and restaurants.

Thanks both for your reply

@brotherleelove, I have my travelguide along, so during the boattrips I can do some islandresearch :-).
Or will there be people waiting in the harbour trying to get me to their accomodation?

There will be people waiting in the port. As brotherleelove suggests, it is always handy to know where the room is located before they drag you in their car, especially on a big island like Naxos. You can ask to indicate on a map in your guidebook ( pou ine to domatio ?). Unless you are looking for isolation, Naxos town is a pleasant enough and convenient place to stay.
