6 nights in greece - Athens

Hello

I am going to Athens from the 17th June - 23rd June

The plan is after arriving in Athens mid afternoon is to try and board a ferry to one off the islands and stay there for about 2/3 nights and then come back to Athens and stay there for a few nights

Has any one got any recommendations on which islands to visit. Ideally the ferry ride should not be more then 2-3 hours. It should have good authentic greek food places. great beach good night life and ideal for a solo traveler. Some good activities/things to see although i realaise im not going to be there for that long.

I have planned to visit Athens on the ay back as this was recommended in case the ferry is delayed or cancel and i may miss my flight back home!

Any preference on how to split my days in terms off athens and the island which should get more preference over the other. Where would be a good area to stay in greece and for a solo traveler

Jai, get onto a flight from Athens airport to any island in about an hour.Milos is 35 mins away! The earlier you book the cheaper it is..... Olympic and Easy jet are good. If you need to overnight, stay at Peri's hotel , 10 mins from airport by free bus. With a return flight you'll maximize your time and avoid the whole getting on a ferry hassle....
