6 hrs layover in Athens.. what can I possibly do?

Hi,

I will have 6 hours layover in Athens on my way to Santorini. Can I possibly explore the town? if yes, where is the nearest place and how to get there ?

Just to give us the full picture. Is the 6 hours the time you got or is it the time between landing and departure ?
And which day and times exactly (because you might face as well rush hour)

Because if the later is the case, you might look at 3-4 hours top (depending if your baggage is checked trough or
if you travel only light)
