I am looking to travel from Koblenz to Mainz, probably on the K-D river cruise.
I want to know if I can take my luggage with me?

I will be arriving at Tegel airport on Thursday morning at 05:00 (5 AM) and I have to get to Berlin Z.O.B. (bus station), so I'm wondering if there are any taxis (public transportation not an option) outside the airport at that time in the morning? Or do I have to call for one? If I have to call could somebody here give me a number?

I will be in Germany for just 5 days in April 2008 and need some advice on public transportation (bus or train) from Frankfurt Main Airport to Heidelberg and Berlin. I have had a look at the www.bahn.de website for train schedules and tickets but the website is quite confusing so appreciate any help on this!

FRANKFURT-HEIDELBERG

I will spend one week in Germany (around Mainz) and I would appreciate if you can help me with few questions:

  1. I am planning to travel from Mainz to Koblenz and to see castles in that area but I do not want just to observe them from the deck of some ship. I would prefer to visit villages on this route and to enjoy in them a little bit more. So is there any hop-on hop-off boat service or any other way (bus?) to go from one place to another?

  2. Having in mind that I have whole week…

I hope people can help me before I pull all my hair out, as the internet is evily (sp?) slow tonight and looking at any sites, including Hostelworld, Tripadvisor etc...online is taking an hour. This includes this newly BBC owned site.

Anyway, we need a hotel or pension in Berlin which is 70 - 80 Euros max in price. The parameters are that it must have a stand up shower, due to wishes of the significant other (ie: no bathtub with just hose thing if you are willing to do a "sit down shower") and…

What is your favorite Turkish Lokanta near Munich Hauptbahnhof?

I often have a layover of 90 minutes in Munich Hauptbahnhof around lunchtime when I use the train to visit my girlfriend and had my share of MacaDees and Burger King. But I noticed that there is a Turkish area if you exit the Hauptbahnhof to the south (direction of Theresienwiese), so there must be some tasty Lokantas around? (I quite enjoyed Lokanta-food in Turkey)

My budget for lunch mustn't exceed 10 Euro, I'd be more happy to…

If you want to use the Thalys you need a compulsory reservation, even if you use it only inisde Germany from Aachen to Cologne, right? (Unlike the TGV, which doesn't require a compulsory reservation on the legs inside Germany, say Karlsruhe-Stuttgart).

So how much is this compulsory reservation?

I cannot find this info. I thought about using the Thalys from Aachen to Cologne and then continue my trip towards Stuttgart with the Tchibo Ticket, which should be valid on the Thalys from Aachen to…
