Hello, I need help trying to find the name of a town/city I visited with my school in 2008 in North-Western Germany.

I'm pretty sure the town was in Germany fairly near the border with Holland/The Netherlands.

I know we visited Phantasialand, so the town is in that area somewhere!

All I can remember about the town was that it had huge arches (maybe a city wall or a gate) (there were about 3 arches in a row I believe), that were made of dark brick.

It also seemed quite touristy as once you…

Spending 5 days in Berlin then 5 days in Venice for the beiannle.
I have 2 days in between Berlin and Venice. Looking for nature or
special place.

Ideas
1. Munich - and castles or dachau
2. Bolzano and Dolomites

I'm on a budget and the trains would be
cheaper than flying. I have only been to Heidleberg
In Germany so I'd like to see other parts of Germany
Or the alps. Any recs are appreciated.

Thanks

Do you know any live music bar, specialising in Jazz in Berlin? If not, maybe just your favourite Berlin restaurants?

Cheers!!

Anyone got suggestions for hostels in Berlin that attract more of an alternative type crowd or even just somewhere that has a more mid 20s type crowd rather than under 21s. Doesn't have to be a crazy party hostel just somewhere where people are more likely to want to hit up some weird art opening or warehouse party rather than going on an organised pub crawl.

Hello friends!
I am traveling to Berlin for a week next month with my wife. We plan to stay in a nice hotel, and mainly relax in coffee shops, pubs and good restaurants (we like French cuisine). I am wondering if anyone can recommend any specific restaurants, hotels. We are looking for under 150 Euro a night.
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks!

Has anyone traveled by the S8 train to munich airport from munich central station during Oktoberfest?

Im curious to know how busy it will be and whether it is better to arrange transfers from my hostel or
just get the train?

Thanks!

I'll be visiting munch next weekend, staying near the main train station, and was wondering if someone could reccommend a good rock / metal bar please?

I've checked out the websites below, but they seem a few years out of date.

The wife and I are going to be backpacking around Europe. Our second country will be Germany after a few days in Amsterdam then on to Poland. I'd like to take as straight a shot across Germany as possible to Poland. Can anyone recommend a city or two on the way that has a good party scene. We love dance clubs, up beat bars, and yes we're swingers. We suspect that on all levels Germany has some sick partying if you know where to go. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thx
