My wife and I are running the Berlin Marathon September 29. We plan to tour Berlin after for a few days and then embark on a two week tour of Germany. We generally don't rent a car but are considering doing so this time in order to stop at more places along the way and have more flexibility on where we go. From Berlin, we are considering some of the following destinations: Dresden, Bamburg, Regensburg, Munich, Fussen (Schloss Neuschwanstein), Freiburg, Heidleburg, Rhine Valley and then…

I just finished watching CNN's Gateway. The report focused on the train line that goes from China to Germany and specifically the good that are shipped via this train line.

Are there any passenger services on this line yet? If so, what is the cost and are there any reviews on the trip yet? Thanks.

I am planning a trip to Berlin over Christmas. Is it likely that there will be restaurants etc open in central Berlin or would it be better to book to eat in the hotel? Is the 26th a holiday as it is in the UK or will facilities etc reopen then? Apart from the markets are there any recommendations for things to do over the festive period.

Frankfur - return ticket from Airport to Hauptwache

I have 5 hour beetwen flight at Frankfur - so I would like to do 1,5 hour city walk. How much cost return ticket from Airport to Hauptwache?

I thing that 5 hour will be enough time for me to trip Airport->Hauptwache->1,5 hour walk->10 minutes quick beer->Airport

I have heard that the romantic road is a beautiful drive from Frankfurt to Munich. I would like to cover the road in a day / worst case stay one night in some town.

Can you please suggest the places to visit (I know the time is really short)? and also could you suggest which town could i stay for the night?

I'm starting to plan a trip to Germany for spring. At first I was going to follow the recommended 2 week itinerary from the Lonely Planet travel guide; however, I feel like I wouldn't be able to really enjoy all of the stops in such a short amount of time.

I am travelling to Germany for Oktoberfest and the only reasonable flight I could find puts me into Frankfurt Hahn on Friday setpember 27th. Ive been looking for the best, inexpensive way to get to Munich from Hahn for the festivities.

Yesterday I found an ICE train going from Koblenz to Munich for only 19 euro and went ahead and booked the flight, then when I refreshed the page every train I found was atleast 60 euro! Will the prices go back down or is there another cheap way?
