We will be in Bavaria in July. It will be my first time in Germany and I really want to visit some castles. I'm not good with massive numbers of tourists and want to skip the really popular ones. Does anyone have suggestions of castles to visit in Bavaria that would be less visited? Thanks!

Hi all!

I have one free day to spend in the middle of my trip, where I will be travelling from Brussels to Basel, and I am trying to figure out where to stay. It will be a Sunday night in July and I was thinking of a small city or town to visit preferably along the Moselle or Rhine. From what I understand a lot of places in the smaller cities and towns could be closed on Sundays. Possible points of interest for me are: beer/breweries, wine/vineyards, castles, and historical attractions. I have…

Hello -
My work is sending me to Cologne for a two-day training seminar during the last week in July. The class is on Tuesday and Wednesday, ending about 4:00 local. My returning flight departs Amsterdam at 6:00 on the following Sunday, giving me three full days free. I won't have a car, and will be putting my faith in the German railroad network to get around.

I have been pouring over the DB timetables trying to get a feel for what is practical. The CNL service is intriguing, since I…

hi everyone,
I'm considering spending a short week in Bavaria in late May (25th to 30th), visiting some of Ludwig II's castles and towns along the romantic road (Würzburg, Rothenburg, Nordlingen, Harburg, Donauworth...) but I fear one thing : mass tourism.
I hate everything designed for tourists (kitchy multilanguages retaurants and souvenir shops can really ruin a trip for me) and I hate big crowds so do you think I should try to visit Bavaria another time of the year or late May (especially…

Hi guys,

I plan a trip through Germany and I'd like to visit some big cities (Berlin, Köln, Hamburg, München, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, ...). List is not finished yet.
Could you help me with public transport informations? Are there possibilities to travel cheap from city to city? Train tickets are expensive...Do you know any alternatives? Or where can I get such information?

Thanks a lot!
Greetings,
Lena

Hello!

I'm traveling with my band (6 people) and we have a day off in between our shows in Cologne and Munich. We are looking into interesting and, most importantly, inexpensive place to stay on the way to Munich. Any ideas? We've looked into air bnb's and some hostels in Munich to spend and extra day there but they are quite spendy.

Thanks!

Jimi

Hi all. I'm sorry I know there are heaps of posts here asking about trains but it seems very confusing with so many possible types of tickets and options available. I was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice about a trip that my partner and I will be taking in early June.

We will be arriving in Munich by train from Salzburg on a Friday, staying in Munich for 3 nights, Nuremberg for 4 nights and Münster for 2 nights then leaving from Dusseldorf airport. That's around 9 days total in…

Hi there,

we will be travelling between Switzerland and Germany this coming December.

arriving in Zurich, then travelling through Switzerland to a small town called Bulle close to Fribourg, and then from there to Geneva and up into Germany to Stuttgart.

from Stuttgart we will travel to Frankfurt, and then either fly out or Frankfurt, or take a train to Paris.

all in about 3 1/2 weeks.

i would like to know if anyone knows whether it is worth while getting a train pass for 2 countries for…
