Hi folks,

I'll be in Berlin for 2-3 weeks in October -- am thinking I'll attempt some combination of AirBnB and couchsurfing, possibly hostels. I'll be working a decent amount of the time, so I'd like to stay in a neighborhood that has some nice cafes and coffee shops with solid Wifi, some good restaurants, supermarkets, and maybe a park or two. I'm sure I'll see "the sights" of Berlin while I'm there, but I don't need to sleep near them. Like I said, I'm hoping to stay somewhere with a nice neighborhood-y feel.

Recommendations? Thanks in advance!

"Recommendations" for what? Nobody in here know where you stay in Berlin, the street, the quarter so how you imagine to get some information?

Ummm I think the OP means recommendations for neighbourhoods, Regards. Got any advice for which area they should base themselves in?

FWIW, I spent a week living in this street, near Schönleinstraße u-bahn. Lovely treelined streets, neighbourhood bars etc.

Hey,
I am from Berlin and the best areas are definitely Kreuzberg (in which is Schönleinstr.), Friedrichshain, north Neukölln, Schöneberg and Prenzlauer Berg, where I live :) Berlin is a green City, we have loads of parks. The most "alive" and international area is definitely Kreuzberg/Neukölln followed by Friedrichshain.
