Hey there!

I'm spending 3 nights in Berlin fro mthe 14th to the 17th of January.

My plan is to sleep in Kreuzberg, but it is so huge that I don't know which would be the best part to stay in.

I'm looking for somewhere with a nice atmosphere specially at evening/night.

Could you guys recommend me which are the the coolest parts to stay??

thanks in advance!

i like to stay around checkpoint charlie. i know, depending on which side of the checkpoint you stay at, its not in kreuzberg, but i would still consider it. i like the area because there are plenty of restaurants for all budget and tastes, plenty of sights in pretty easy walking distances, and its well connected to the u-bahn/s-bahn (but that is the case all over berlin anyway).

You want to sleep in Kreuzberg? That could prove challenging depending on which part of the district you choose. I'm not sure of your budget, but the Ibis Budget chain offer great vale for money, averaging about 55 euro per night. Although not in Kreuzberg, they have hotels at both Alexanderplatz and Wittenberg Platz by kurfurstendamm. Not in Kreuzberg but easily reached by U Bahn. I always stay at the latter and the U1 (or U12 as it is atm due to construction works) is about a 20 minute ride to the Heart of Kreuzberg whether Kotte Tor or Schlesisches Tor.

The Kreuzberg Stations at the eastern end of the U1/U12 tend to be where the 'action' is centred. I would be inclined to give the area around Gorlitzer Park/Bahnhoff a miss both for going out and staying - it aint that nice and plenty of dubious narcotics salesmen loitering about trying to peddle their goods.

The Hotel Motel One's situation is in the middle of the quarter and a very good one. Prinzenstr / Heinrich Heine Str. was in the past also the border (only for Germans) to the eastern part. There is a subway station and buses just beside the hotel.

I like the area around Paul-Lincke-Ufer alongside the canal - tons of great bars and places to eat. But to be honest, transport is great in K-Berg so I'm sure wherever you choose will work well.
