? will be based in Munich from May 08 for 3 weeks. What places are close by for trips? Austria? Czech? Bus, train or fly. As I have limited time, the more I see in this time frame the better. Thanks.

You should visit Salzburg and Innsbruck in Austria. This are really beautiful cities!
For Germany: Nürnberg, Rothenburg ob der Tauber(!), Bamberg, Bayreuth, Garmisch-Partenkirchen..those are ALL worth visiting. Really nice places!
eventually you visit the "Salzkammergut" in Austria with its beautiful lakes and/or the Chiemsee in Bavaria.

Visit the castles of King Ludwig: Neuschwanstein, Linderhof, Herrenchiemsee. Cruise by boat over the Bodensee, from Lindau or Bregenz to Rorschach (Switzerland) - Friedrichshafen (Zeppelin-Museum) - Insel Mainau - Unteruhldingen (celtic lake dwellings/Pfahlbauten) - Konstanz - Stein am Rhein (medieval Swiss town) - Schaffhausen (Rheinfall/cataract of Rhine river). Don't hesitate to go up to Vienna it's worth while for a weekend or more.
