Hi

I am planning to go for the football game at Allianz Arena (Bayern Munich game). Unfortunately, I would be landing at 1.30 pm. What is the quickest way to go directly from the airport to Allianz Arena? (Kickoff is 3.30pm). Would I have time to go to the hotel in Munich central and then go from there. This is the first game I would be attending and hence don't want to miss anything (including the beer prior)

Also is there a place I could store my bags? (Either at the airport or at the arena)

Thanks

You think about that it can be your plane is delated for some minutes, that you need 20 minutes from inside the plane to outside the airport? In the stade you cannot store anything and the little time you have is not enough to go inside the town and back to the match. The arena is between the airport and Munich. One suggestion: Take a taxi to the stade and ask the driver if he can bring your bags to your hotel.

Thanks ... Would u by any chance know how long would it take to the stadium and how much would it cost? Also are u allowed to carry a small bag-pack into the stadium?

It is written the price can be higher, look here http://www.taxi-rechner.de/lokal.php?country=de&city=M%FCnchen - about your bag no idea.

small bag is ok in the stadium, but no bottles (only plastik 0.5Liters) or other things which might count as weapons, things to throw and so on. it is pretty much the same stuff you can not bring through security at the airport. All bags will be controlled at the entrance, some (at special games every) guests will be äh, "touch-controlled".

Apart from that: tight schedule, with the public transport I would say it is impossible:
arrive 1.30pm,
bags picked up between 2 and 2.15,
walk to subway, buy ticket (if you know already your way) 2.30,
might need to wait for a train (2.40),
40minutes journey to Marienplatz (3.10-3.20)
bring bags to hotel, checkin (depends on place of hotel, but lets just estimate its close and you now how to orientate yourself (3.40)
back to subway (3.50, later if you have to wait for a train)
Take train to Allianz Arena (4.10)
walk from train station to stadium: (4.25)

this way you will miss the first half....
can you get an earlier flight?

If I remember correctly there is a commercial luggage storage in terminal 2 at the airport. Found it:

To save costs you may take the S-Bahn from the airport as far as Ismaning (S 8) or Feldmoching (S 1) and take a taxi from there, both stations are under 5 km from the stadium and should make a much cheaper taxi ride.

Forget the idea of checking in into your hotel or even just drop off your luggage there in between - no chance. If you leave your luggage at the airport you can make it to Allianz arena in about 50 Minutes using S 8 to Johanneskirchen, Bus 50 to Studentenstadt and U 6 to the stadium. Might work until kick-off, but of course leaves you going back to the airport to collect the luggage and back downtown (or wherever the hotel is located).

Ok guys - just to keep you posted - this is exactly what happened (giving a brief since many people may face the same issues).

Landed on time - 1.30 pm (Munich Airport)

Walk and pass airport Immigration - 2.00 pm

I travelled very light (considering there was no place to keep my bags) - had one small haversack

Based on some suggestions (called for a taxi) - you can easily book the same online - lots of websites with a standard charge (they only take a confirmation and don't charge your card - you can pay by cash at the end of your journey) - The company driver was holding a board with my name on it - Taxi fare to the arena - 58 euros

Travel Time to the arena (till when the traffic for match started - about 1 km from the turn-off to the arena) - 2.20 pm

Traffic - and travel to the gate - 2.40 pm (drop off near the gate)

Entry to the arena - 2.45 pm

Had beer and sausages and still had time to see the even the warm-up

Absolutely brilliant - thanks to everyone who helped me - hope this helps some people
