Hello ... I will be heading to Munich in early June, and I am on a budget this time around. I am not familiar with Munich and was wondering if there is a nice area (that is cheaper than the city center) and is easy to get to and from trains, where we should stay. We are going to be heading to Austria (Salzburg & Innsbruck) so if there are some towns between Munich and Austria that you would suggest, please do. We are going to the Euro 2008 tourny, so any place we stay we are hoping has good pubs, and a fun vibe. Thanks!

It is possible to stay in Grafing or Rosenheim on the way to Salzburg. But i think it will not be cheaper than the hostels around the Main Station in München.
