Hi Guys.

I am thinking of staying in Germany for 2 or 3 months and wondering whether it is easy to find a short term accomodation in Germany. it does not matter whether i share with someone or rent. The most important thing will be budget. I am thinking of spending 120 dollars a week in Australian. so it means maximum 370 euros monthly in renting or sharing with someone, which should include bills--water and electricity. any useful websites to find short accomodations...

I am thinking of staying in Bremen or Berlin. Can I rent a short term unit through a real estate agency? if then, is there any minimum duration of staying? any info regarding the accomodation will be great and living costs as well.

Check carefully if utilities are included or not.

Renting through a real estate agency would be too expensive, even if you found something, they're asking between one and three monthly rents for a fee.

gielfromnewtown, can't really help with what you need but I'm looking to do something similar in June - in Berlin - so if possible let us know how you get on should you go ahead and decide to spend a few months in Germany. My plan at the moment, for what it's worth, is to probably camp for a couple of days then see what neighbourhoods I fancy staying in and then just take it from there. I've also been intermittently looking at the Berlin Craiglist page for subletting. One thing I've noticed is that subletting rents seem to have shot right up over the past few months - maybe there's less bargains than there was supposed to be?

hi girlfromnewtown you could try search for a room or a short term sublet on the berlin section of craigslist.org i'm moving to berlin myself at some point this year and have found this site helpful to get an idea of what is available at that price range, but also what the different areas of berlin are like. good luck!

www.toytowngermany.com is a website for English speakers in Germany. You might be able to find someone to share with, or rent off, there. If not they will give you some advice! Also a great way to make friends.
