Going to be hitting Berlin in May and have a budget of $275 Canadian per day for two people. The Canadian dollar is at about .70 of a Euro.
Our hotel will be 70 Euros. Is $175 Canadian going to be reasonable in terms of modest dinners and museums and pubs etc...?
Last time we were in Germany (Munich area) I had to up the budget to $325 Canadian per day but am hoping because Berlin is big it will be cheaper there, given the range of choices.

Don't think this plays a role. Berlin is the 2nd biggest city in the EU after London. However London is the most expensive capital city in the EU while Berlin is at least for Western Europe the cheapest.
One reason for the rather low prices in Berlin is the poor economic situation of the city. Guess it's the only capital city on the planet with a GDP less than the country average GDP. This is esp. true for services/goods directed to locals, not the ones mainly directed to tourists. If you sit down in a Starbucks café you pay the same prices like in Munich.
Single ticket public transport: EUR 6,10
3 days museums pass is EUR 19,00 (covers some 70 museums in Berlin)
If you don't stick only to the most touristic places (Potsdamer Platz, Unter den Linden, Oranienburger Str.) it's no problem to have dinner incl. a beer for 15 or even 10 Euro.
Unless you're really into fancy dining, spend a lot on souveniers etc, or take taxis all the time (rather expensive) then 120 Euros per days should be ample.
difficult question - almost a math test (needed a spreadsheet to work this out):
you have 275 CAD at a rate of currently 0.66 CAD to the Euro, i.e. 181,5 EUR for two. Less 70 EUR for the hotel this leaves you approx. 56 EUR per person per day - is that right?
Personally, I would do fine with that - depends on your definition of "modest" but when you booked a hotel for 70 EUR I would think you are modest enough to survive on your budget but as stated by george5, you'll need to think twice about longer taxi rides...
