Any tent you chose will be full of drunk, obnoxious Germans...

Ochsenbraterei is good, give it a try. The Hacker Festzelt has also
traditional atmosphere, I also liked Augustiner and Hofbraeu.
Check around and you will find what you look for.

I love the following three tents, although several are good: Weinzelt, Schottenhamel, Augustiner.

I tend to decide based on the quality of the beer rather than the quality of the patrons. Therefore I make all efforts to get into the Paulaner tent.

I am going to expose myself as a totally uninformed, uncool and definitely avoidable human being: what is a saffa? Google is not always my friend.
(searches some more)

D'oh! Yes it is. South African. Shoulda known.

Hi there!

I think the most traditional tent is the Winzerer Fahnd'l. It's not too big, there are mostly Germans and if you go there on a week day in the late afternoon you can easily find a spot without having a reservation.

Have fun! :-)
