I'm thinking of doing a weekend in Munich with our one year old baby. We'd like to go to the christmas markets, and generally have a nice, walking, site seeing & dining break. Is Munich a good city for this, is it family/push chair friendly. Also, can you recommend a good central location, and nice family friendly hotel, 4 * or so.

christmas markets are very crowded
with a toddler in a push chair not to recommend
buy a sort of shawl wrap it and the child around you - sorry dont know the english expression for that ,-it would be easier

munich is sort of small in the center you could walk almost everything
an odditty is the valentins museum at least if you like monty python - guess they got many ides from this guy

hope you know w2hat the costs of a hotel 4* in Munich is, as almost everyone here on the pages is low budget

look at the tourist office of munich by google- muenchen.de -

Go early to the Christmas Markets, best is early afternoon. They get very crowded once it's dark and it's difficult with a stroller.
There are reasonable hotels near the trainstation, Europaeischer Hof is quite good, no idea however, how many stars. The star system differs from country to country anyway, so it's hard to compare.
It's a short walk from the train station to the centre of Munich.
