Has anybody been to Filmpark Babelsberg?

Website: http://www.filmpark-babelsberg.de

Was it enjoyable? I realize that any theme park has its share of "cheeziness", but is it worth the trip?

How does one get there via bus or train from Berlin?

Thank you!

BVG timetable
To: Filmpark Babelsberg

Potsdam is in zone "Berlin C". Day ticket public transport for Berlin ABC is EUR 6,30.

Have a look into the history section of this park. Some films/series the theme park is made about are probably only known to the German speaking audience or the Non-English speaking audience (as these countries buy barely foreign films/series).

With children the park is a good idea. For adults if you don't have special interests in films or theme parks not a must. There are more important/interesting sights in Potsdam.

Thank you!

My interest is in classic German cinema. I remember reading that this park had the original sets for The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, and that was my big draw to the place. However, if that attraction still exists, it seems to be dropped or at least minimalized on the website.

Any advice is always welcome!

At their homepage they only write about original film sets, but not for which films. Maybe they plan to extend it some time. The site goes not much into detail at all.

Also this source writes that you see the cabinet of Dr. Caligari.
