Hi, I'm looking for info on Elbsandsteingebirge just by Dresden. I was wondering what were the nicest places to visit and what accomodation is like(price vs quality)... all recommendations welcome.

Stadt Wehlen is a good place to base yourself - easy walking distance to the "Bastei" rocks.

We stayed here:

Strandhotel Wehlen

Probably not your cheapest option - but the accommodation was ok and the food was excellent. There were various B+Bs nearby.

I recommend hiring mountain bikes if you're into that kind of thing.

Chech out Festung Koenigstein, an old fortress on top of one of the hills. The Bastei is definitely worthwhile.
If you like you can also take on the trains to the Czech Republic side of Elbsandsteingebirge.
Let me know when you're going because I will be there next wek myself.
