A walking tour for 4 hours in December ? Suggest you take all warm clothes you have with you.

The circus hostel has them for free every morning! I did a couple tours from the hostel and the only one that cost money was to go to Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The other two were an 8 hour tour of the city and the other being to see the Festival of Lights (it was during October when I was there). A lot of hostels offer the same sort of thing for walking tours, just contact the hostel you plan to stay in beforehand and see if they so free walking tours.

The first night I was there I did the Festival of Lights and met 3 people who happened to be in Berlin for the entire time I was there. During the day we would go and do our own thing and around 6-8 every night would meet up and we'd go out for supper and to party. It's funny in Canada I never party but I figured when in Berlin. You definitely need to check out a club, there unlike anything in the world! I went to a place called la maison and it literally looks like a old rundown mansion that they turned into a club and played crazy techno music, I got home at 8am the next morning!

If you're into WW2 I definitely recommend the Jewish museum! I found it so interesting because although it focuses on the war it also talks about the history of Jews from everywhere in the world. It also has interactive things to do there. I really liked check point Charlie but a lot of people say it's overrated. There's a lot of information there and I found it a bit confusing but that's because it was before I did my walking you'd, afterwards it all made sense. My favourite thing to do was walk around museum island infront of the Berlin dome, Alexandraplatz and Hackesher market. They were all within walking distance to the hostel so a lot of times I would do the walk and just go to where I wanted to from Alexandraplatz.

I really liked the East Side Gallery, it was interesting to see everyone's art work and it's a nice walk for on a nicer day, I'm not sure about the weather in Berlin in December though!

Anything else just ask!
