Depends what kind of budget your on! If your looking for hostel style I stayed at the Circus Hostel last October when I was there. 4 bed mix dorm was €21, it was an awesome hostel, had a great tourism desk and info, the staff was helpful, the underground was literally across the street, you were only 2 stops away from Alexandraplatz. I definitely recommend doing a free walking tour on one of your first day, great way to meet people and you can get your bearings of the city, it's huge! A day trip to Sachsenhausen concentration camp just north of the city, it's only a half day trip so you can still do stuff during the later part of the day. My favourite museum by far was the Jewish museum, the DDR was okay, I found it to be very busy and overrated. I loved the east side gallery and just walking around Alexandraplatz. My favourite place for a night out was Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. Very accessable from the hostel and only a €5 cab drive.

I spent roughly €50-€55 a day, that was including hostel accommodations, eating out for every meal, a couple nice sit down ones, binge drinking every night and all my attractions and public transportation, including for cab rides.

I spent 10 days in Berlin and could of easily spent more, it's my favourite city in the world! Any questions you have ask away and I'll do what I can to answer them!

If you're more into being close to the nightlife than Plus Berlin would probably be better! It's right in the district where a lot of the clubs are and it's right across the street from a transportation station and only a few stops away form Alexandraplatz which can get you anywhere in Berlin and it's about a minute walk from the East Side Gallery.

.....a minute walk from the East Side Gallery - looks great. Can you tell in which direction as it looks like this 'gallery' stand along a channel.

Turn left out of the hostel and there's an intersection within sight, theres a bridge to go straight it starts right on that corner there

Yep you just have to cross the street at the intersection and you'll be at the corner of the bridge and East Side Gallery, you can't miss it! The opposite side of the wall is a river. When you finish the wall the ostbahnhof which is a huge station is to the right so you don't have to go far to get back to where you came from or to go to another location in the city! Anymore info on Berlin I'd be more than happy to help with it's my favourite place in the world and can't recommend it enough!! :)

wow

all this information is amazing thanks guys

i am unfortunatly only going for 4 nights and will have a budget of around 80 euros a day minimum so it sounds like i can do a lot with that sort of money !
i want to do the hostels so i can meet like minded people and make new friends wherever i go
i like the sound of circus hostel but i might just book my first night there and see what i can find along the way (adds to the adventure finding the right place once your there i think)

i was unsure about the museums as i have been to some really bad ones so the museum advice is great!
i land in berlin at around 9:30 am so will most definatly be doing a walking tour, i found one online that leaves from Zoo station and is 4 hours long but it cost around £10 so any advice on where i can get involved on the free tours would be great please tamaraloong!!!

i have wanted to go to Berlin for years so i want to see and do as much as possible without wasting time in crappy places, i have looked up some good clubs as i like rock music but if i meet cool people i will dance to pretty much anything with a few cheap beers in me

keep the help coming please guys i am new to all this travelling the world thing :)
