Hi,
4 of us are heading to Berlin for a weekend in January. A few questions to the experts...:
1) any recommendations on where to sleep? Most important thing is location - close to the nightlife! Also, ideally we would like to share one room (we can also book a whole dorm as an alternative) - cheaper and more fun! Price-wise, not more than 20-25 euros per person and night. For example, I have seen this place recommended on this board: http://www.baxpax.de - which of the 3 locations would you recommend? And does anyone have any other suggestions?
2) Places to eat and go out: which are the areas where the restaurants and bars congregate? Any specific suggestions? Ideally we are looking at a neighbourhood with lots of places to eat to choose from, and a few bars to move to afterwards. We are not looking at clubs or techno, just nice bars with a good atmosphere and perhaps some music. If there's any unusual place we should check out, please let us know!
Thanks a lot!!

take a look at this website www.berlin30.com for cheap accommodation options in central locations. There is also a useful bar, restaurant and club guide insider info on night life, (the people who contribute are Berlin residents) enjoy Berlin!

OP- id recommend baxpax downtown out of the three locations. only a street or two away is Oranienburger Str , an awesome night spot that is heaving with restaurants and bars. We did this pub crawl and it was great.
there is a really great bar in an old buliding on the street, from the outside it looks like a derilict building but out the back is a bar etc. There is a art gallery at the front.
