hey guys,

I live just across the border from Colmar in Freiburg, Germany. My girlfriend and I are celebrating our five year anniversary next weekend and we wanted to head over the border to Alsace for a night.

some background info:
1)we've been to colmar, selestat, obernai, strasbourg
2)we don't have a car so we need easy bus/train connections from Colmar
3)thinking about Riquewihr and Ribeauville but maybe something different.

Looking for a charming place and a room for less than 50euro.

suggestions…

Dear Friends,

We are an Indian couple on our first visit to Paris. Our travel plans have become a little complicated. I reach Paris from Rio ( Brazil) by Air France flight 443 arriving in CDG at 8.00 am on 11th May, 2007. My wife, who has little experience of international travel, reaches Paris by AF 191 arriving in CDG at 8.50 am on 11th May, 2007. However, my flight from Rio arrives in Terminal 2E and her arrival Terminal is 2F.
I want to recieve her as soon as she clears her customs. Can I get…

We are an Indian couple on our first visit to Europe..we will be in Paris from four nights in the second week of May, 2007(11th-15th May). We are looking for budget hotels-- clean places to stay with ensuite bath in easily accessible areas. I have shortlisted the following
1. Ibis Gare du Nord La Fayette,
2. Best Western Saint Lazare, and
3. Residence Appart'Austerlitz

Can I request reactions from any travellers who have stayed at any of these places..
Thanks,

Hi,

I'm a 22-year-old female interested in the arts, culture, and nature. I'll be travelling to Paris in late May, and then Rome about a week later. I'll have a eurail pass and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any places i shouldn't miss that are (relatively) on the way from Paris to Rome. I've never been to France and I'm open to suggestions. I looked on the map and saw that Nice and Monaco are sort of in between - are they worth the trip? I'll probably only have 2-3 days to spare…

This is not really a travel related post. But I guess no one can travel to France those days without beign dragged into the French politics.

I would be interested in your views on the French polls. Okay, we have now on the second round of the election Nicolas Sarozy vs Segolene Royal. My - French - husband is not too keen on Royal, doubting her competence for the job and criticising her old fashion conservative policies. Some kind of back to 70s and 80s French socialism that did not much good to…

I'm taking my family to Paris in mid June and after a few days there we want to see a bit of the France countryside as we make our way to a week in Switzerland. Does anyone have a suggested route via train. We are a family of 5 three kids ages 13, 16, 17. Same thing for Switzerland if anyone can comment.

I have never to Paris or any other parts of France. In Europe, London and Santorini were only 2 places I have been to. My hubby is going there to work in London, Paris and Gevena. I plan to follow him to Paris and Geneva. I would love to find some out of town places in France to stay over the weeken to to spend my lazy days: doing nothing but taking photo and taking a bike. I'd love to see the countryside of France. Anyone could suggest where about I have to go.

Thank you
:-)

Well,
Thank you to all who replied to my recent post asking about "French Villages"-
It was hard to decide before I made the post whether I'd be seen as someone with absolutely no imagination whatsoever, or maybe just couldn't read a guide-book-
But, back came these wonderful, helpful and clearly experienced replies-
Sifting through them now, and I will pick out one or two locations for the coming holiday-
Just thanks from Australia.
