I'm planning a trip to Provence in May. I thought I'd base myself for a few days in one Provence town and from there do day trips around the area (I won't have a car, I plan to take tours). Does anyone have an opinion if I should base myself in Avignon or Aix maybe? Is one town more accessible than the other? or will one town have more day trip tour options than the other? Thanks.

I have some time to blow before I return to the US from Malaga on May 17th. I will be in Barcelona on May 2 and was thinking of taking the train to Perpignan for a few days as I have not been to that area of France. I have been all over Spain and the coast and someone had told me Perpignan was pretty. I have approximately 10 days to spend in Alsace & Lorraine and I plan on using the train or bus to get around. What would be the best home base to take day trips? I was thinking of Strasbourg, Colmar, Metz, or Nancy or a combination of those. I wouldn't object to having two (or three) home bases if there is more than one town that requires more than a day trip. I like museums, gardens, food halls, shopping, and speak passable French. I will be coming from Paris.

This is the beginning of a road trip around Europe, me, my partner and our dog are crossing France from Calais to Marseille and would like to know the best places to visit on a 10 days route. We are looking for beautiful nature, small towns and villages. We are also very keen on doing some outdoors activities like kayak, climbing, hike and others.

We're arriving in Paris the morning of April 14th, which is Good Friday. We're staying in an apartment near the Champs Elysees. I'm concerned about shops and attractions being open from the 14-16 and I've also read that Monday, April 17th might be a holiday. Any feedback or insight welcome!

My husband and I along with our 2.5 years old daughter will be making our first trip to Paris this May. We just have 4 days and want to cover some of the top attractions in Paris. We will be arriving on a Monday morning at 8 am at CDG airport and will be departing on Friday morning the same week. We will be staying in the 7th arrondissement, quite close to the Eiffel tower and have already booked our stay.

Hi, i would be in Paris on 2nd May noon. I need to know things to do in Paris. some sightseeing, some shopping and leisure. I don't mind couple of hectic days. Later i plan to fly down to Barcelona. Have folks had good luck with taking Uber in Paris?

On our upcoming trip where we will stay mostly in Paris, we are planning two side trips - to the beaches at
Normandy and to Chartres. I've looked at the trains and it appears that if we do both these trips, we still
have to transit back to Paris to get to the next place. So, if we go to Chartres, spend the night in order to
get Caen, we take the train back to Paris and on to Caen.

Does anyone have any recommendation? We are thinking perhaps renting a car would be better, but
we are really not…
