Hello, We have a 10 hour wait at Charles De Gaulle Airport and was looking to find out what my options were to go into Paris, possibly The Eiffel Tower? As i am unsure of the distance of the airport into the centre of the city, i am not sure if this is possible? I would be grateful for some ideas to fill our time and making the most of being in Paris. I am travelling with my 2 children aged 7 & 12. Our flight arrives into CDG at 08.40.

Hi there,
I got a photo radar ticket while driving in France 3 years ago and I failed to pay it partially because I wasn't sure what it was about but now looking online, this is very common in France. I was driving a rental car and looking back, may have paid the administrative fee for the authorities to get my address in Canada but I did not pay the fine. I wasn't the fastest driver and here it is considered a cash cow by most. I know already from reading posts on line that I may face the wrath…

Any advice about locations or specific schools for learning French? I'd like to do an intensive course over the summer for 3-4 weeks for at least 20 hours/week and am not an absolute beginner, but have very basic French.

I have read that the Tours area is recommended for courses - it's not far from Paris and there is supposed to be good schools there. This one looks good to me: http://www.institutdetouraine.com/.

Do you think that I should definitely avoid Paris due to the temptation to speak…

Hi, My boyfriend and I have booked a 9-day trip to Switzerland/France this October. (Lots of time to plan!) We are flying in to Geneva and out of Paris. Our initial thought is to fly in to Geneva and spend a day. Head to Chamonix for a few days and then head to Paris to meet friends for a 30th birthday celebration (the point of the trip). I guess I have a plethora of questions, so I guess it is easiest to just list them out. (Sorry in advance!)

  • What is the easiest way to get from Geneva…

Hi there,

I am planning a camping trip in Southern France with my 12 year old son. We will be traveling by public transport and are looking for campsites near public transport and ideally by a river. Preferably on the smaller side, but with enough other kids his age.

Thanks,
Inez

Hi, I am a scientific researcher visa holder in France. I am currently working in the United states. My récépissé will expire on the 21st of April 2017; however, I just knew that my 10-year residency card in France was accepted and I can pick it up from the prefecture once I go back. My only concern is that I have booked my ticket back to France on the 20th of April one day before my visa expires. Will I be able to access the country without any problems? or should I go there earlier? Another…

Hi, We are a couple planning to spend a couple of days in Tours in the summer and are looking for a vineyard/chateau visit and wine tasting experience. We are travelling by public transport and were wondering whether it is possible to arrange anything from Tours. Any advice gratefully received.

I'm a 16 year old, and I'm going to be traveling to Paris alone for a few days this summer between a couple events. I was hoping someone on here would know a good place to stay in the city that is relatively nice and allows minors to stay by themselves (with signed parent permission of course) for a few nights. All the hostels I could find on Hostel International and other similar sites require you to be 18 or traveling with a parent, neither of which match my situation. Thanks for the help.

Hi , I will have 3 full days in Marseille in mid May . One day I will spend going to Cassis and taking the boat ride . How best to spend the other two days ?
Is it worth going to Aix for a day trip ?

FYI I will have to use public transport since I don't drive .

Thanks a lot

PS : BTW , have been to the western part of Provence last year ( Avignon , Nimes, Arles etc )
