We will be driving by car from Nice to Biarritz over 3 days. We want an comfortable drive with two stop overs. I see the two main highways across would be the A62 or A64. Any suggestions for the best route to take and also nice towns/hotels/bnb's to stay on the way?
My teen and her friends are having a trip to Paris for several nights. I haven't been on a trip in so long I cannot easily advise them on current day to day logistics. Lately we have been talking about security with bags, purses, etc..while touring around the city. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to have the kids carry wallets, passports, phones, cameras in the most secure way. Of course, the sense of fashion gets in the way of fanny packs close to their body haha! Thank you.
Hi all,
I feel as though I have searched and searched and searched but not found an answer that fits the specifics of my situation, so I thought I'd post here before I have any more sleepless nights!
I am an Australian citizen currently studying abroad in France - before I start, I'd just like to note that the French Embassy in Australia doesn't have a phone number for visa questions and they basically point-blank refuse to answer questions via email. Just sayin' ;)
I leave to go back to…
We will be in Belley (Rhone-Alpes) for 3 weeks in August. Can you recommend train transportation to Reims or Epernay? Or should we just drive? We plan to spend the night in the area and tour both towns and some small champagne houses. Can you also recommend any small-but-fabulous champagne tours? Thank you!
I have tried to see what the cheapest way will be to travel by train during that time. Our base will be on Rue Cardinet 17thArray. During this time we will be visiting Euro Disney, possibly Versailles Palace and the normal touristy destinations. We will be 8 people in Paris, arriving the night of the 8th of July and departing to Charles de Gaulle on the evening of 10/7. I read up on train tickets and somebody mentioned that a Mobilis travel card is cheaper than a Paris Visite Travel card. Any…
Hi,
I am hoping to attend a course near Roquebrune Cap Martin in the first week of August. As the course is already pretty expensive I am hoping to economize a little by camping. I would have thought there would be no difficulty in finding campsites in this busy touristy part of the French riviera - however I am not having much luck with my searches online so far. I think there is a site near Nice, however I am hoping to find somewhere closer to Roquebrune Cap Martin...surely there MUST be some…
My husband and I will FINALLY take my dream vacation. I am going to take 2 weeks to visit Paris and some of Italy. I'm a shopaholic who LOVES a great deal. I have champagne taste with beer money, but will take a plunge if the value is right. I'm thinking Paris, with a train to Milan, a hop through a couple quaint villages in Italy and perhaps Venice.
I would like to catch the BIG sales that happen each year near the end of the summer, and still manage to see some of the "less crowded" and…
I'm visiting Portiragnes Plage in September and starting to think about planning a bit of an itinerary. We love to cycle and will have to rent bikes. Does anyone know of any good rental places in the area? We'll need to hire a trailer or child seats as we'll have 2 kids - 1 turns 4 while we're away and the other will be 18 months.
Also looking for good cycle routes - think we'll be quite near to the canal du midi. Nothing too challenging (no huge hills 😳), but up to 20 miles round trip. Any…
I'm planning a 9 week, 22 country trip and I'm in the midst of planning fatigue. It's enough to just plan all the fundraising (it's a charity thing), visas, and buying a car in another country... but somehow I have to figure out where I'm staying.
I'm planning on camping as much as possible, so I am planning a mini-vacation in Paris before I really get roughing-it. Of course, this will be my first trip to Paris, so I want to see the "sights", but I'm starting to get tourism overload.
Can…
I will be in France for a month in July, with a side trip to Belgium. I want to get a SIM for my phone so I can make calls to French mobile phones & sms friends in Ireland & UK who ate coming over to meet me. I know picking up a local SIM is easy in corner shops in some countries & is a bureaucratic nightmare in others. Can anyone enlighten me re France, & recommend a good option?
Thanks in advance for any help :)
