My wife and I will be going to France in mid-July this year for roughly 12-14 days. It has been her lifelong dream to see Paris and Nice, at the very least. I'm hoping you all can help me plan a rough outline of the trip. As of now, I'm thinking of spending 5 or so days in Paris, then taking the TGV to Nice. From Nice, what are some other ideas? Marseille seems nice. Monaco? I'm just trying to get an idea of what a rough itinerary within that timeframe could look like, to hit the highlights of…
Hi all,
I'm going for work to Corsica for 10 days so I'm arriving a week earlier to explore the island a bit.
my plan is to rent a car, have a vague plan on what I want to do, and just wing it.
although this kind of thing work in Asia and other places I'm not sure it will work in Corsica.
I'm planning on going there on April the 26th for a week.
how hard is it to find budget accommodation in Corsica?
do they have a hostel culture or should I base my stays on airbnb and b&b on the way?
what do you…
I will be in Chamonix this September to do some hiking. As I did in Switzerland, I would prefer to be able to use a gondola/lift to get to high elevations trails and then either walk back down to Chamonix or walk parallel to the valley floor and descend using another gondola/lift or walk back to the lift I used to get up. Alternately, I would be okay ascending to a high elevation trail from the valley bottom if the ascent is no more than 700 meters. Any suggestions for day hikes would be…
Hi there,
I'm hoping to get some advice for a first time Europe trip. I'm a 30 year old New Zealander, currently living in the UK (since October) and am planning a trip for when my mum comes over on June 16 - Aug 1 (flying in and out of London). I haven't been out of the UK yet and mum hasn't been to Europe at all before. We are flexible with where we go but have been thinking France, Italy and the Greek Islands would be nice (we both love beaches) as we want a good balance between seeing as…
Does anyone know of any residential beginners piano accordion courses in France, preferably in the South nearish to the Languedoc?
Thanks
Can anyone recommend a tutored wine tasting in the Le Gard departement, Languedoc?
Thanks
We'll be spending a few nights in the south in mid-May: 3 nights in Eze, and then 3-4 around Arles (I say 'around' since we haven't booked that one yet, whereas Eze is booked). We'll have a car the whole time (we'll be driving from Genova), and plan on wandering around the area. I plan on having it 'loosely structured': some things prearranged where necessary, but mostly open.
One thing I've wondered about: we have made a series of trips out for wine in the US (Napa and Sonoma, mostly), and…
I have to take a train from Cologne to Paris on October 6th 2016. I assumed this would be an easy 3-ish hour jaunt down the continent, but when I punch the info in to a few different sites, it tells me the journey will take 11-21 hours and I have to go to England.
Is it just that I'm looking to early, or am i putting in the wrong train station? (Koeln HBF to Paris Nord is what I was looking at.)
I’m traveling to Paris, France this Oct 01, Saturday. Dates are a little flexible. II need four round trip tickets, two departing Miami and two from Boston. Staying about 10-12 days.
Q. Between now and Sept., when is the best time, best deal to purchase tickets to Paris?
I prefer to buy the tickets from the airlines website, rather than a travel website.
Thanks for your time.

I'm planning on using Lyon as a home base for 10 days in May and taking day trips from there. How many days should I plan for in Lyon? Also, I'm planning on visiting Annecy. How many days should I spend there?
I will be traveling solo. I enjoyed seeing the charming towns near Avignon (Arles, Saint Remy), so I'm planning on doing the same from Lyon. Any recommendations for day trips from Lyon? No skiing for me, but I wouldn't mind a hike or two. I enjoy museums, shopping, wine, nature, etc. I'll…
